Distinctly Catholic

St Clare’s is a faith filled community. Entering our school you will become aware of the iconography around the school and we hope that your interactions with our staff, students and community demonstrate our love of Christ, neighbour and the environment.

Each student engages in daily prayer to continue to build their relationship with God and students study religious education as an additional subject. A very high number of our students participate in sacramental classes during their time at St Clare’s.

Our school has a strong connection to our parish of St Paul’s Camden, under the guidance of parish priest, Father Michael and assistant priest, Father Joseph. Father Michael and Father Joseph celebrate Mass and liturgies both at school and at St Paul’s Church.

Modern Learning and Play Spaces

St Clare’s has a wide variety of modern air-conditioned learning spaces available to the students to utilise. This includes our school hall, a well equipped library, dedicated Music and Italian classrooms, as well as break out spaces in every grade.

The play spaces consist of a dedicated Kindergarten area and play equipment, grassed, hard and synthetics grass areas and outdoor learning spaces. The synthetic grass areas allow for a multitude of sporting games to be played in these spaces, such as netball, soccer, basketball and volleyball.

Fantastic Learning Opportunities

Our vision of forming hearts and minds to make a difference drives the learning at St Clare’s. Students are presented with learning opportunities to challenge and support them in their development to improve in learning and grow in their faith.

There are three classes in each grade from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our teachers work in collaboration with each other to ensure a consistency of practice. Quality differentiated teaching is delivered so that each student’s learning needs are catered for.

Every student is encouraged to take ownership of their learning and better understand how they learn, so they can be equipped to set goals, take action and determine what support they need. 'Learning Intentions' and 'Success Criteria' are critical in all classrooms to ensure that students know exactly what is expected of them and are then better able to set individual learning goals.

A Wonderful School Community

A genuine sense of community is evident at St Clare’s through the strong working relationship that exists between school and families. Over the years the parents and friends association has been integral in working in partnership for the benefit of our students. Some examples of this are the annual school fair as well as Mothers and Fathers Day stalls, our school disco and sporting carnivals. These are just a sample of the ways parents and friends can contribute to St Clare’s.

Using Technology to Enhance Learning

Technology is increasingly becoming a necessary part of life. Students of St Clare’s learn how to use technology appropriately and effectively as a tool for learning. Students in Years 4 – 6 are a part of the schools 1:1 iPad program. Students in Kindergarten through to Year 3 are able to access classroom iPads to use while at school. Each classroom within the school is set up with a large monitor and Apple TV.

St Clare’s participates in various robotics programs and competitions throughout the year and uses a variety of robots to complete this work, including Bee-Bots, mBots, EV3s and VEX robots.
